Requirements for Admission
The Helzberg Executive MBA is a 21-month program designed for experienced managers, leaders, professionals, and fast-trackers who want to take their careers to the next level. The program combines academic rigor with real-world relevance leading to an MBA degree. Ideal candidates will have:
- Eight or more years of progressive, professional work experience
- At least two to five years of managerial work experience
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
How to Apply
To apply for admission to the Executive MBA, complete the online application with all required documents as listed below. Applications open on October 1.
- Current resume or curriculum vitae
- Official transcript(s) from any institution of higher learning where you earned a baccalaureate degree and/or completed any graduate courses
Electronic documents can be sent to emba@rockhurst.edu. Hard copies can be mailed to Rockhurst University, Executive MBA Office, 1100 Rockhurst Road, Kansas City, MO 64110. - Two professional letters of recommendation
Recommendation letters are an important part of the admission decision. Please select two professional references who are able to comment on your character, business skills, expertise, and leadership ability. - Personal statement (no more than two pages), including:
- Why you want your Executive MBA
- What you bring in the way of experience and what you want to learn
- What personal values you will contribute to your cohort
Once your application has been completed, a personal interview with two program faculty will be scheduled. You will be notified of your final admission status within 10 working days following your interview. If accepted, a $1,500.00 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your seat in the incoming class.
Application Deadline
The early admission deadline is May 1. Applicants who meet all requirements and are admitted to the program gain the opportunity to get a head start on elective coursework and gain early access to Rockhurst Executive MBA community events occurring before the program officially begins in the fall. Applications submitted after the early admission deadline are welcome and will be processed on a rolling basis throughout the summer.
