Our Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree will give you a solid understanding of the role businesses plays in society — from its history, impact on individuals, economic impact, and the social responsibilities that come along with it. BSBA students complete two innovative sequences as part of the business administration degree core curriculum:
- Professional readiness sequence
- Technology and predictive analytics sequence
These sequences were developed by the Helzberg School of Management based on market research and consultation with hiring managers at area companies. We did this because we wanted to make our business degree in Kansas City as appealing as possible to these corporations. You can also pursue Excel certifications as part of your studies — another feather in your cap as you look ahead toward business administration jobs on the horizon.

Popular Courses
This course introduces the student to the basic business workings of corporate and nonprofit organizations, including major functional areas and managerial processes with attention to emerging research about strategies and practices of high-performing organizations. Students will explore and analyze social issues as they relate to ethical leadership and the organization’s role in the social and community environment.
The course begins with some additional financial accounting topics and then moves quickly to a managerial perspective with the focus on provider information for internal decision-makers. The student will be introduced to new terminology and concepts while carrying forward what they learned in financial accounting. Some of the topics include ratio analysis, the statement of cash flow, cost accounting concepts and tools, cost volume profit analysis, budgeting and relevant costs.
This course is designed to ensure students understand the ecosystem of modern corporate technology to include use of server and cloud computing, understand the basics of a relational database system (RDMBS), run queries on a RDBMS with SQL, provide examples of proper social media platforms, further explore data visualization systems, be exposed to a functional programming language, and, synthesize tools and data analysis into an effective presentation.
This course is an integrative capstone experience focusing on strategy and policy development for organizations within the context of sometimes conflicting ethical constraints. Strategy implementation challenges are also explored. The class provides an opportunity to integrate the knowledge drawn from functional area courses in the solution of problems discovered by the analysis of both published cases and live interactions with the managers of companies and organizations within the Kansas City region.
