If you choose to select the "I Agree" button below, you consent to the University communicating with you in electronic form and to entering into agreements and transactions using electronic records and signatures. And you agree to assume financial responsibility for all charges billed to your student account including, but not limited to, tuition, course fees, books, room and board, health insurance, returned checks, parking and fines (hereafter referred to separately and collectively as “Obligations”). Your consent to new transactions expires annually and will require a new acceptance for transactions after that time.
Consent to Conduct Business Electronically
Agreements and transactions covered by this consent include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Registration: enrolling, dropping or withdrawing from courses; viewing student schedule, grades, and transcripts; ordering transcripts; applying for graduation; requesting and viewing degree audits; FERPA release requests; requesting enrollment verifications; etc.
- Financial Aid: receiving disclosures and notices; viewing, accepting or declining financial aid; reviewing communications; etc.
- Student Account: viewing and paying tuition bills; receiving notification of loan disbursements; IRS Form 1098T Agreement; signing up for direct deposit; etc.
- Miscellaneous: reading email communications in RU email account; updating contact and emergency contact information; signing Student Financial Responsibility Statement; receiving student consumer information; delegating access to another individual; etc.
STUDENT FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AGREEMENT
Payment of Fees/Promise to Pay
I accept responsibility for payment by the due date of all Rockhurst University charges assessed to my student account, including tuition, fees, late payment fees, and room and board if applicable. I fully accept my student account balance as my personal financial responsibility. I understand that administrative, clerical or technical billing errors do not absolve me of my financial responsibility to pay my obligations.
This obligation applies to any additional tuition and fees due if I make an adjustment to my enrollment schedule, and I agree that I will remain responsible, in accordance with University policy, for tuition and fees for classes from which I have withdrawn, been dropped, or fail, or which I fail to attend. I also acknowledge that it is my responsibility to withdraw from any/all classes that I will not attend in a particular term/session; and that failure to properly withdraw from these classes, according to the withdrawal timelines and processes published in the University’s withdrawal and refund policies, may leave me responsible to pay any tuition/fees owed for such classes.
Communication
I understand that Rockhurst will send an email notification to my official @hawks.rockhurst.edu email account when my e-Bill is available for viewing. I understand that it is my responsibility to monitor that email address, review my e-Bill and make payment by the due date stated in the statement. I understand if payment is not made by the due date I could be charged a late payment fee. I agree to provide the Student Accounts Office with my current billing address and phone number at all times during which I continue to incur financial obligations to the University and/or I have an outstanding balance on my student account.
Delinquent Account/Collection
I understand that, in the event my account is past due, the University may place my account with a collection agency if the account remains delinquent. I understand that, when an account is placed into collections, it may be reported to the national credit bureaus. I further understand that I will be responsible for all fees and costs incurred by the University for the collection of the past due amount, including collection fees, attorneys' fees and court costs.
I understand that, once an account becomes past due it may result in the cancellation of my registration for the current term. It may also result in a transcript, registration and diploma hold/block being placed on my student account.
All returned checks are charged a return fee. An additional fee will be charged if an electronic payment is returned unpaid due to insufficient funds, account closed, cannot locate bank account, stop payment or invalid account number.
Consent to collection communications. I authorize the University and its respective agents and contractors, including a collection agency acting on behalf of the University, to contact me regarding any outstanding balance by means of automated telephone dialing equipment or artificial or pre-recorded voice or text messages. I agree to be contacted by telephone at any telephone number associated with my account, including my cellular phone and/or any other wireless device. I agree that the University, its affiliates, agents, and service providers may record telephone calls regarding my account in the assurance of quality or for other reasons.
IRS FORM 1098-T
I agree to provide my Social Security number (SSN) or taxpayer identification number (TIN) to Rockhurst upon request as required by Internal Revenue Service (IRS) regulations for Form 1098-T reporting purposes.
I consent to receive my annual IRS Form 1098-T electronically from Rockhurst. I understand that if I do not consent to receive my Form 1098-T electronically I can print a paper copy of my 1098-T online. If I have issues with the website someone in the Student Accounts Office can help me print the form in their office.
Consent to Conduct Business Electronically and Financial Responsibility Agreement
I acknowledge that I should contact the Student Accounts Office with questions about this financial responsibility agreement at any time. I have read, understood and agree to the payment conditions outlined above.
BY CLICKING ON THE “I AGREE” BUTTON, I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I HAVE READ THE INFORMATION ABOUT CONDUCTING BUSINESS WITH THE UNIVERSITY USING ELECTRONIC METHODS AND THE PROVISIONS RELATING TO ACCEPTANCE OF UNIVERSITY POLICIES, PRIMARY MEANS OF COMMUNICATION AND EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION. I CONSENT TO THE STUDENT FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AGREEMENT AND THE PROVISIONS OF THIS AGREEMENT TO CONDUCT BUSINESS ELECTRONICALLY, TO USING ELECTRONIC METHODS FOR ALL PURPOSES LISTED ABOVE AND HAVING ALL RECORDS PROVIDED OR MADE AVAILABLE TO ME IN ELECTRONIC FORM.
IF I DO NOT AGREE TO THE ABOVE, I MUST CLOSE THE BROWSER WINDOW AND VISIT ROCKSTOP TO LEARN ALTERNATE OPTIONS FOR CONDUCTING BUSINESS.
