A petition may be submitted if a student would like to request that any requirement for the program be waived. This might include but is not limited to:
- Course substitution requests.
- Request for a waiver of a degree requirement.
- Request for a prerequisite waiver.
Extenuating circumstances are required for a petition to be considered
The process for the submission and review of a petition is:
- The student will complete the Engineering and Computing Program Petition form available from the Engineering and Computing Program Director or you may print it here.
- The student will submit this form and any supporting documents to the Engineering and Computing Program Director.
- The Engineering and Computing Program Director or Designee will review the petition and make an initial recommendation recorded on the Engineering and Computing Program Petition form.
- The Engineering and Computing Program Director will then present the relevant Engineering and Computing Program Petition form to the Rockhurst Engineering and Computing Steering Committee.
- The Rockhurst Engineering and Computing Steering Committee will review the petition and either approve or deny the petition recorded on the Engineering and Computing Program Petition form.
- Students may appeal this decision to the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.
- Students will be notified of the decision via email.
- A copy of the decision will be sent to the Registrar’s office if appropriate.
- The original Engineering and Computing Program Petition form with any accompanying documentation will be retained in the student’s file.
