Career Assessments
Career Development offers a variety of assessments and interest inventories. To learn more about these resources, contact Mike Theobald at 816-501-4861.
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a widely used inventory used to explore personality types and how they relate to the workplace.
Strengths Finder Through the 34 different talent themes, you can gain a better understanding of your own unique skills and strengths. Once you have a better understanding of yourself, you can then move forward with declaring a major and defining a career path.
The Holland Self-Directed Search is an assessment based upon personality type as it relates to the work environment. This assessment provides career direction by giving suggestions on majors and occupations that match an individual’s type.
Resume Instruction & Critique
Career Development is available to assist students with the creation and refinement of their resume and cover letters. Our experienced staff will provide feedback and recommendations on resume format, content, organization and etiquette, as well as proofreading for grammatical and spelling errors.
Interview Preparation
Students interested in improving their interviewing skills may participate in a mock interview through Career Development. During the mock interview, students will gain experience responding to traditional and behavioral interview questions. We can help students gain a competitive advantage by enhancing their interviewing skills before the big interview!
