Learning outcomes
- Students in Rockhurst’s pre-med post-bacc program receive the quality science education and academic advising needed to pursue a career path in health sciences such as medicine, dentistry or as a physician assistant.
- Students receive education in fundamental areas including general biology, general chemistry, physics, as well as organic chemistry.
Program Outcomes
- Successful students in the pre-med post-bacc program are granted a certificate of completion. A cumulative GPA of 3.3 must be maintained to continue in the program.
- Graduates are prepared to continue their education in the health care industry; a high-demand, lucrative career path.

- Students in the pre-med post-bacc program develop individual plans with academic advisor and program director Laura Salem, Ph.D. Advising meetings take place every semester ensuring students meet their medical school requirements.
- Pre-med post-bacc program students have the opportunity to shadow physicians, participate in clinical volunteering and interview with the Rockhurst pre-health advisory committee to receive feedback on application materials before submitting their medical school applications.
Rockhurst has agreements in place with both local and regional medical schools for outstanding pre-medical students to gain early admission into medical school. Each program has a unique set of criteria.
