Accepting Scholarship Applications
Incoming freshmen interested in continuing community service and service to Campus Ministry at Rockhurst University can apply for the $3,000 Bernadette and Richard Miller scholarship. In the words of Mr. Richard Miller, “We hope to create a greater awareness that each of us must live for others and especially the “least of our brethren.”
The Bernadette and Richard Miller scholarship will be awarded to a select group of incoming Rockhurst University students each year. The recipients are leaders in service and demonstrate dedication to their faith. During their time at Rockhurst University, Miller scholarship recipients are expected to complete 30 hours of service within the academic year and participate in one (1) of the following for spiritual growth:
- one of four (4) annual retreats offered by Campus Ministry
- the Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice
- a Rockhurst University solidarity-immersion trip
- lector/Eucharistic/music/altar server ministry at student masses
- leadership/participation in SEEK Interfaith Council
