Statement Regarding Today's Supreme Court Decision on Admissions
Rockhurst University Companions,
As you are likely aware, this morning the U.S. Supreme Court issued a ruling that effectively ends the consideration of race as a factor in college admissions.
Guided by our Catholic, Jesuit core values, we have been very intentional in our work to make Rockhurst University a welcoming and inclusive place for all. In fact, one of the four pillars of our strategic plan calls us to “Make inclusivity our way of proceeding.” Because we are committed to making the transformational power of a Jesuit education accessible, we will not waiver in our commitment to recruit the best and brightest from all backgrounds to become part of our community of scholars.
As we continue to learn about today’s decision and its implications for Rockhurst University, be assured that we will remain steadfast in our dedication to our mission, vision and values.
Rockhurst University Mission and Vision
Rockhurst is a comprehensive university and a supportive community that forms lifelong learners in the Catholic, Jesuit, liberal arts tradition who engage with the complexities of our world and serve others as compassionate, thoughtful leaders.
Our vision is to create a more just world through inclusive, innovative, and transformative education.
