Kansas City has a generally warm climate with more than 200 days of sunshine throughout the year. Spring and summer are usually sunny followed by an extended fall and a mild winter. The coldest month is January with an average temperature of 30 degrees Fahrenheit (-1 degree Celsius). The warmest month is July when average temperatures hover around 80 degrees Fahrenheit (27 degrees Celsius). The average annual snowfall is 20.1 inches, with 6.5 days with over 1 inch. Who is considered an international student?
An international student is any student who is not a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S. and attends, or has attended, a school not located on U.S. territory. An international student currently attending a U.S. institution on a student visa also is considered an international candidate for admission.
When should I apply for admission?
Rockhurst operates on a rolling admission basis, reviewing applications as they are submitted. However, priority is given to applications received by Decemember 1 for the following fall's freshman class. Learn more about the application process.

What is an "official" document?
Official documents are those that are sent directly from the testing agency, bank, etc. Rockhurst will not accept student copies.
Can I afford to attend Rockhurst?
Rockhurst's tuition and fees are among the lowest of all Jesuit colleges and universities. Also, scholarships of $5,000 to 14,000 are available to eligible undergraduate international students. Scholarships based on athletics, performing arts and writing also are available in varying amounts. To find out if you are eligible, contact an admission representative.
Where will I live?
All freshmen and sophomores are required to live in one of Rockhurst's three residence halls: one is all-female, one is all-male and one is coed. Upperclassmen also can live in the townhouse village or off-campus. Ask your admission counselor about your best option.
Am I required to buy university-sponsored health insurance?
International students may waive university-sponsored health insurance as long as your policy meets the criteria noted below.
1. I agree that my coverage is active, with continuous coverage for the academic year.
2. I agree that my plan has an unlimited benefit maximum.
3. I acknowledge my plan is fully compliant under the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
Students may also select university-sponsored health insurance.
Please note, make sure to carefully review your current policy to ensure it meets all three requirements and be attentive to co-pay and deductible levels that can add up quickly. If you are a student-athlete, Rockhurst University health insurance is recommended, as it covers athletic injuries.
