We know that leaving home and family to attend college, perhaps as the first one in your family to do so, can be exciting yet overwhelming at the same time. The Hawk Scholars Program is designed to help ease you through that transition.


Feel at Home at Rockhurst University
This Hawk Scholars program strives to help students find their community on campus and pursue their academic goals by providing personal, professional and academic support from freshmen choosing college courses through senior graduation.
Throughout the academic year, participants in the program will receive:
- Peer and faculty mentoring
- Monthly group meetings
- Workshops
- Professional networking opportunities
- Additional academic support
Get a Head Start – Freshman College Summer Program
Participating in the Hawk Scholars Program will offer students a unique opportunity to arrive early on campus and receive three days of programming to help ease their transition to college. Through student panels, conversations with faculty, staff, and alumni companions, campus involvement, and community building, participants will be connected to the RU community and receive concrete information about everyday life as a college student.
