Rockhurst is committed to supporting projects that are focused on lowering its environmental impact and creating a better environment for us all. See below for some of the projects we've been working on.

Caring for our Campus, Community & Climate
Rockhurst University is home to 529 happy trees (as Bob Ross used to say). Each tree has a direct impact on our
campus, community and climate. Sustainability is a priority for the University, proven by its commitment to
provide an eco-friendly environment for all. Rockhurst's trees, of all ages and shades of green, help in the
collective effort to combat climate change and contribute to clean air.
Rockhurst commissioned a study of our campus's greenery that helped us understand the environment we
created and let us plan better for the future. See some facts and a video about our campus foliage below.

Repurposing Materials
We reused wood from trees that were removed due to renovations at Sedgwick Hall
for new sustainability projects around campus. These include:
• Rock E. statue in Alumni Commons
• Benches in Massman Hall
• Conference tables
• An obelisk inside Sedgwick Hall
