Rockhurst University Appoints Vice President for Advancement
Rockhurst University has appointed Mary Mooney Burns vice president for university advancement. In this position, she will serve as a member of the University’s senior leadership team and oversee all aspects of fundraising, alumni and constituent relations, public relations and marketing.
Burns joined the University in 2013 as senior director of University engagement and has served as interim vice president since August 2016. Prior to coming to Rockhurst, she served as vice president of marketing and communication at the YMCA of Greater Kansas City, held positions with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Park Hill School District and provided consulting services in a variety of public relations and marketing specialties.
Burns holds a bachelor’s degree in communication with an emphasis in journalism and a certification in nonprofit management from Rockhurst University.
