Rockhurst University, Helzberg School Earn Recognition in U.S. News and World Report Best Colleges Rankings
Both Rockhurst University and the Helzberg School of Management have earned recognition among regional and national peer institutions in U.S. News and World Report's latest Best Colleges rankings.
Rockhurst University has improved its ranking in the 2017 U.S. News annual Best Colleges list released Tuesday, moving to No. 15 in the best regional universities in the Midwest category. The University was ranked 18th among its peers in the publication’s 2016 list.
Offerings from the University's Helzberg School of Management also stood out in this year's rankings — the school's undergraduate management program was ranked 11th nationally, while its undergraduate quantitative analysis curriculum appeared on the national list for the first time, coming in at No. 7 alongside programs at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (No. 1), Carnegie Mellon University (No. 2), and New York University (No. 8).
“The Helzberg School of Management continues to build on the strength of not only our core programs, like management, but also in emerging subject areas like quantitative analysis and data analytics,” said Cheryl McConnell, Ph.D., dean of the Helzberg School of Management. “The rankings affirm our focus on providing students both the tools and knowledge to become effective and ethical leaders, no matter where their careers may take them."
U.S. News and World Report compiles its Best Colleges rankings every year based on statistics such as graduation rate, class sizes, student-faculty ratio, college admission test scores and peer assessments, among other measures.
“Everyone, from our faculty and staff to our students and alumni, should feel gratified for these rankings,” said Doug Dunham, Ph.D., Rockhurst vice president for academic affairs. “They are a recognition of the collective commitment to our Jesuit, liberal arts mission and to the ongoing work of preparing students to be lifelong learners and leaders.”
