Finucane Service Project
The Finucane Service Project welcomes incoming students to Rockhurst and introduces them to service—an important part of Rockhurst’s mission as a Catholic and Jesuit university. The Project gives the campus an opportunity not only to experience service but also to celebrate the spirit of service. Named in memory of the Rev. William Finucane, S.J., Rockhurst initiated the Finucane Service Project to honor his commitment to introducing freshmen to both service and the neighborhood around campus.
Service Learning 101
This program helps prepare students for the community-based learning experience of a service-learning course. Topics covered include working with community partners, transportation and safety considerations, and making the most of the experience. These sessions are held at various times within the first three weeks of the semester to reach the most students enrolled in a service-learning course.
Service Saturdays
The Center for Service Learning will plan a service project on one Saturday per month. This is an easy opportunity to serve with fellow Hawks when dealing with a busy schedule. Space is limited to 20 per project, and reservations are required. All projects begin at the Rockhurst Community Center.
