To apply to the Rockhurst Master of Science in SLP program or the Post Bachelor Leveling Program for SLP, students must complete an online application through the Communication Sciences and Disorders Application Service (CSDCAS).
Application steps:
- Complete the online application.
- If applying through the CSDCAS:
- Send official transcripts directly to CSDCAS from all colleges and universities attended. No paper transcripts will be accepted.
Submit your completed written essay directly to CSDCAS. - Submit three references to CSDCAS. No paper references will be accepted.

- For current Rockhurst University students and alumni applying through the RU Student Application
- Submit your completed written essay directly through the application.
- Submit three references directly through the application.
- Submit official transcripts from every college or university you attended after graduating from Rockhurst University.
- International students applying from a non-English speaking country: Submit a TOEFL score of at least 79 (internet-based) directly to Rockhurst University. CSDCAS does NOT accept official TOEFL scores.
- A personal interview with the SLP faculty may be required.
- Applicants must have their application verified with GPA calculated by a February 15 deadline. Applicants must be completed, e-submitted, payment received, references and transcripts received, at least four weeks in advance of the deadline to ensure the application is verified on time. Applicants who are not verified will not be considered for admission.
Application and Prerequisite requirements:
Entry into MS in SLP Program (students who have completed an undergraduate degree in an SLP major or a leveling program at Rockhurst or at another accredited university)
- Complete an undergraduate degree in SLP from an accredited college or university, or an undergraduate degree in another discipline plus appropriate leveling coursework in SLP that prepare students for entry into the Master of Science program. Undergraduate preparation must consist of at least 36 semester credit hours and reflect a well-integrated program.
- Achieve a required minimum overall grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.00 scale
- Achieve an annual GPA of at least 3.2 on a 4.00 scale for Science, ASHA pre-requisite courses, and SLP Courses
- Demonstrate the ability to fulfill the Core Functions of the Speech-Language Pathology profession to complete an MS in SLP 2020 Certification Standards in Speech-Language Pathology (asha.org)
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills and appropriate interpersonal skills.
- Complete the prerequisite courses in biological, physical, and behavioral sciences and statistics as required by the American Speech Language Hearing Association, ASHA, for application for certification prior to the first day of the MS program.
- A standardized test score is not required for admission to the program; however, students need to be aware that standardized tests (state boards) are required to become a practicing Speech-Language Pathologist.
Admission to the graduate SLP program is determined by a faculty admission committee.

- The 2024-2025 CSDCAS application cycle is now open.
- Deadline to submit an application is February 15.
Students must submit all required materials directly to CSDCAS and must follow guidelines found on the csdcas.org website.
