Rudy Giuliani Announced as Speaker for the Rockhurst University Leadership Series Luncheon
The Rockhurst University Leaders Council has announced that Rudy Giuliani, 107th mayor of New York City, will be the guest of the fourth Rockhurst University Leadership Series luncheon, presented by the Association for Corporate Growth, on Thursday, March 3, 2016.
Giuliani’s presentation, titled “Principled Leadership in the Face of Change and Crisis,” will put into focus insights he has gained from life as a political leader, lawyer and businessman, specifically in times of turmoil. Known as “Mayor of the World,” Giuliani presided over a New York City plagued first by crime and violence and then rocked by the terrorist attacks of 9/11, guiding the city through its toughest challenge with a steady hand and a brave spirit that earned him TIME magazine’s Person of the Year honors in 2001.
His career includes fighting organized crime, drug dealers and political corruption as a member of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York and as Assistant Attorney General for the U.S. Department of Justice. Giuliani served two terms as mayor of New York City from 1994 to 2001. His leadership following the events of 9/11 earned praise from U.S. and international leaders for his leadership throughout the attack’s aftermath and recovery: he was knighted by England’s Queen Elizabeth, dubbed “Rudy the Rock” by French President Jacques Chirac and given the Ronald Reagan Presidential Freedom Award by former First Lady Nancy Reagan.
Following his time in office, Giuliani founded Giuliani Partners and is also a partner in the law firm of Bracewell & Giuliani LLP. In 2008, he campaigned for the Republican nomination for U.S. President.
The Rockhurst University Leadership Series luncheon is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2016, at the Sheraton Kansas City Hotel at Crown Center, 1 E. Pershing Road in Kansas City. Tickets for the event will be available in after the first of the year. Call 816-501-4551 for more information.
