Astronaut Scott Kelly To Share “Leadership Lessons From a Year in Space” As the Guest of the Rockhurst University Leadership Series
Scott Kelly, the U.S. astronaut who spent 340 days aboard the International Space Station, will bring his record-setting trip to life as the guest of the Rockhurst University Leadership Series, scheduled for Tuesday, April 4, 2017, in the Muehlebach Tower at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown.
Kelly shared his experience with the world through social media throughout the mission. In his presentation, “The Sky Is Not the Limit: Leadership Lessons From a Year in Space,” Kelly will present a selection of those breathtaking views of the cosmos, along with insights into the challenges he faced in such a demanding environment and what he believes is the future of space travel.
Kelly and his identical twin, Mark, were the subjects of NASA’s Twins Study, with Mark remaining on Earth as a control subject in an attempt to better understand the subtle effects of long-term space travel.
Kelly’s visit in spring 2017 will coincide with the scheduled publication later in the year of Endurance: My Year in Space and Our Journey to Mars, a chronicle of his groundbreaking journey.
A limited number of individual tickets to “Leadership Lessons From a Year in Space” will be made available after Jan. 1, 2017. For more information, contact Rockhurst University’s Office of Advancement, 816-501-4199 or mary.burns@rockhurst.edu.
