Rockhurst Business Programs Continue to Rise in U.S. News’ 2019 Best Graduate Schools List
Helzberg School of Management at Rockhurst University offerings earned recognition among the top programs in the nation, according to U.S. News and World Report’s 2019 Best Graduate Schools list, released Tuesday.
The Helzberg School’s rankings improved in three categories, representing traditional programs like the MBA and graduate degree programs in emerging fields such as data analytics and business intelligence.
“Our goal is to continue to improve our offerings at every level, so to have bread-and-butter specialty programs like our part-time MBA ranked alongside the cutting-edge data analytics program shows the success we’ve had in that effort,” said Cheryl McConnell, Ph.D., dean of the Helzberg School of Management. “These programs are a destination for students and professionals of all stripes looking for skills they can apply immediately in their field.”
The MBA concentration in management is now ranked No. 12, in the nation, up from last year’s ranking of No. 16. It’s the sixth straight year the program has been recognized among the top 25 in the country.
The Helzberg School also saw its ranking jump in the category of information systems specialties for the MBA concentration in data analytics and business intelligence, from No. 19 on the 2018 list to No. 13 in the 2019 list.
The part-time MBA program is now ranked No. 92, among the top 100 of all such programs in the United States, up from No. 133 the previous year.
“Business education can feel like a crowded field,” McConnell said. “Being ranked alongside some of the top programs in the country doesn’t tell the whole story of why the Helzberg School is a great choice, but it is always good to be in that company.”
The U.S. News and World Report Best Graduate Schools rankings are based on peer and corporate recruiter assessments, employment rate and salary comparisons, and student selectivity, among other measures.
