Bart Klein is a seasoned professional boasting over 40 years of expertise in developing and supporting technology-driven business applications for medium to large institutions. His illustrious career includes senior management roles across diverse industries such as financial/banking, aviation/transportation, and agriculture. Bart has been an integral part of the Corporate Information Technology Executive group in the Kansas City area and has served as an IT advisor for esteemed institutions like the University of Central Missouri and the North Kansas City School district.
Embarking on his career at Farmland Industries in 1980, Bart has consistently sought and excelled in challenging opportunities. Starting as a developer in the agriculture sector, he transitioned his skills to Trans World Airlines in 1983, where he pioneered the development of global information delivery tools, now recognized as a business intelligence application. Bart's career highlights include leading a substantial IT organization at TWA and being hand-picked by the CIO to oversee the worldwide Y2K efforts. His journey continued with significant contributions to the banking sector, with 18 years at UMB bank and 5 years at Dickinson Financial.
Currently, Bart holds the position of Associate Vice President (CIO) of Information Technology at Rockhurst University. In this role, he effectively manages the university's technology footprint. Rockhurst University, established in 1910, is a Jesuit, liberal arts institution in the heart of Kansas City, Missouri, offering a range of undergraduate and graduate degrees.
As a prominent department head, Bart has amassed extensive experience in developing and managing large IT department budgets. He is well-versed in the development and execution of large project implementation practices in alignment with the standards set by the Project Management Institute. Bart consistently demonstrates the application of technology solutions to business problems, leveraging his in-depth knowledge of industry trends, relevant laws, and regulations in the technology landscape.
Born and raised in Kansas City, Bart has a profound commitment to the local community. A graduate of the University of Central Missouri, he has also served as an elected official and held multiple officer positions with the Park Hill School District in Platte County, Missouri, over a span of 9 years.
